Core Accommodations

Core Accommodations for all who struggle with reading:

1.    Appropriate language instruction for 2-3 years: Orton-Gillingham (OG) Method

2.    Digital Platform: iPad or laptop (includes spell-checker, keyboard for writing, and device for recording audio)

3.    Access to free audio versions of text material: Alternate Format Services, Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning, public library membership with access to Manitoba eLibraries

4.    Speech-to-Text Software: Dragon Naturally Speaking products and a high-quality USB microphone

5.    Text-to-Speech Software: Native Apple or Microsoft speech engines turned on - Chrome; Voice Dream or other app
